DigiPen Singapore Campus - Printers

The following lists is the inventory of the printers in the campus.

Windows workstation

DigiPen workstations should automatically connect to all the printers which are currently available at the campus where they are located. If you don't see a printer that you expect to see please submit a [Helpdesk] ticket or follow the steps below on manually connecting to printers.

  • Click Start -> RUN
  • Type: \\print
  • Hit enter.
  • Double-click on the printer to install the drivers.

Mac (OSX)

  • Open the Print&Fax options.
  • Click + to add a printer.
  • Windows Printers via Samba
  • Hold down the Option key and press “More Printers”.
  • In the drop down at the top select “Advanced”.
  • Device is “Windows Printer via Samba”.
  • Device Name can be anything you want.
  • Device URL should be similar to one of the following:
    • smb://print.sg.digipen.edu/ or smb://username:password@print.sg.digipen.edu/.
    • 28/08/2013 - For Bizhub C284 -Try also, smb://print/<printer_name>
      • Note. this will prompt you for your userid and password everytime you print. (But you can save it to keychain).
    • For Mac OS X 10.5 and later, the “Advanced” is hidden. To unhide it, right click (or control-click) in the printer toolbar, select “Customize Toolbar...” and drag the “Advanced” icon into the toolbar. Then, continue from step 3.
    • For Mac OS 12.2 Monterey you may need to add ?encryption=no. Example smb://print82.sg.digipen.edu/staffprinter_at_adminoffice?encryption=no

Print Quota

Students are pre-allocated printing quota of 500 papers per semester. The counter will reset itself upon the start of a new semester. Request to add quota can be made by sending email to helpdesk.sg@digipen.edu.

Replenish Printing Papers

If the printer run out of paper, please head over to level 3 frontdesk in admin office and request for a stack of printing papers. You will be required to enter your name into the request logbook for recording purpose.

Paper Jams

If paper jam occurs during printing, please follow the on-screen troubleshooting steps to rectify the issue. If problem still persists, please contact the IT helpdesk hotline at 6577-1945.

Printing Ethics

  • Students are encouraged to print only what they need. Do not waste paper !
  • Please keep the printing area clean !
